Meet Dr. Koneru

     Dr. Koneru is San Antonio’s first Certified CoolSculpting provider.  He is a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon with over seventeen years of experience.  His education, advanced skills, and experience have made Dr. Koneru one of the best in his field.  
     Dr. Koneru graduated from Churchill High School here in San Antonio.  He then attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, where he obtained an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.  Dr. Koneru then completed his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.  After graduating, he completed internship and residency training in General Surgery at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, Connecticut at Yale University affiliated training program.  Dr. Koneru then studied under leading cosmetic, hand, and reconstructive surgeons at University Hospitals of Cleveland.

      His advanced skills and experience have afforded Dr. Koneru recognition in several regional publications, including as a Texas Super Doctor in Texas Monthly Magazine, among the Who’s Who in San Antonio Healthcare in San Antonio Business Journal, and as one of San Antonio’s Top Doctors in Scene in S.A. Monthly Magazine.  He has also been recognized as one of America’s Top Plastic Surgeons by the Consumers’ Research Council of America.

     Dr. Koneru has received certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery as well as the American Board of Surgery.  He is currently a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association, and the Bexar County Medical Society.  He is the former chairman of the Baptist Health System Plastic Surgery Department, and the former Chief of Staff of the Southeast Baptist Hospital.  Dr. Koneru served as the President of the San Antonio International Society of Plastic Surgeons from 2009 to 2011, and remains a member today.  In addition, he is an Editorial Board Member for the Texas Health Guide Editorial Content Review Board, and is a Platinum Elite Doctor on Realself.
